Information
Hoi An Kien Su (HAKS) is a first-person interactive virtual reality experience developed by Click Studio at Duy Tan University.
Players will use a virtual reality set to interact with the environment and play small games within the experience. The duration of the experience ranges from 20-30 minutes.
Human civilisation has reached a point where people can travel through time, allowing them to study and record history with unprecedented accuracy. However, this benefit also brings along those who exploit it for personal gain, causing disturbances in the timeline. A strange event occurred when a jade bracelet over 500 years old was discovered at an auction, which should have accompanied Princess Ngoc Hoa to Japan and remained lost in a foreign land forever. You will take on the role of a time scientist from the Nexus Hub research institute, tasked with travelling back in time to return the bracelet to Princess Ngoc Hoa in the hope of preserving historical integrity. This journey is not just a simple mission, but also an opportunity for you to explore legendary stories and the unique cultural values of the old town.
Technologies
In this project, Unreal Engine 5 is used as the main development platform. UE5 is a modern game development tool developed by Epic Games, notable for its ability to create high-quality visuals, realistic lighting, and large-scale open-world environments. Some standout functions in UE5 include Nanite – which helps display detailed 3D models without affecting performance, and Lumen – a dynamic lighting system that brings a realistic feel to the game environment. In addition, Blueprint – the visual scripting system – allows the development team to quickly build and test gameplay without needing too much source code.
